Monetize Your Site With Google AdSense

Is AdSense right for your site? It is a great way to make a little extra money from your website. But it may not be right for every site.
If you have a retail site, you may not want other ads on your pages. Although you can block sites from appearing on your pages, it will be difficult to keep all of your competitors out of the Google ads. I for one do not use any other ads on my retail site.
Also, there is no reason to put ads on a brand new site with little or no traffic. Put effort into marketing your site and then you can slap the AdSense on. Use Analytics to watch the traffic. Once you are getting several hundred page views per week, you can then try some ads. (Google doesn't care, but some people say Yahoo may penalize new sites which have Google ads on them)
Remember that any site can make money with AdSense if the site has traffic. The more traffic the site has, the more money it will make from advertising of any type. It is just that simple! Therefore, success with paid click advertising depends on great Internet marketing skills.
It is all about how many targeted eyeballs see your site! If you site is about dogs, you need to drive people to it who have an internet in dogs. If dog lovers come to your site, some of them will click on the ads. If they don't care for dogs, they will be gone before they even see the ads.
I suggest ordering the book The Adsense Code, by Joel Comm. It will help you with tweaking the placement and style of the ads on your pages.
